Michael Kramer, Chief Engineer, Wolftone Studios

My name is Michael Kramer, and I am the owner and chief engineer at Wolf Tone Studios in Reseda, CA. I had the pleasure of engineering a tracking session a few days ago with drummer Lynn Coulter (Leon Russell, Carol King and Rita Coolidge).

Lynn had a set of Booty Shakers with him that day, and I was curious to hear what kind of difference they made on his floor tom. At the end of the session, I asked if we could record some isolated floor tom hits with the Booty Shakers in place and without.

I have to say, the difference was striking – the tom hits with the Booty Shakers in place had a much longer sustain and a deeper tone. And this was a floor tom that already had an isolation mount system for the legs!

I have attached a picture of the wave forms from the ProTools recording, with the Booty Shakers in place on the lower grid. You can visibly see the length of decay increase. Needless to say, I am a firm believer in this product.
